General Motors Service and Parts Operations

Charles L. “Chuck” Neville, executive director of finance for General Motors Service and Parts Operations, is responsible for the financial planning, analysis, pricing, and accounting activities. SPO is a parts distribution and sales organization marketing replacement parts and accessories to service all General Motors vehicles and competitors’ vehicles through different distribution channels. 

Mr. Neville began his GM career in 1972 and has worked in various business units and at corporate staff levels in a variety of analytical and managerial positions. In 1984, he moved to California to take part in the startup of New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., a joint venture with Toyota, where he served as assistant controller. Mr. Neville returned to Detroit in 1987 as director of Cadillac Manufacturing.

Two years later he began an overseas assignment as finance director for GM France Components. In 1991, Mr. Neville returned to the United States to work at Delphi-Saginaw Steering Division. A year later, he was promoted to assistant controller at Delphi Headquarters. In 1994, Mr. Neville became executive director of finance for GM North America Profit & Cost Analysis, where he was responsible for overall profit planning and analysis. 

A native of Wichita, Kan., Mr. Neville holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wichita State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Detroit.
