James Whitehurst, former chief operating officer for Delta Air Lines, has responsibility for all operations, customer service, network and revenue management, and corporate strategy.
Mr. Whitehurst joined Delta in January 2002 and left in August 2007. Prior to Delta, he served as vice president and director of The Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Whitehurst joined Boston Consulting’s Chicago office in 1989 and has worked in its Hong Kong, Shanghai and Atlanta offices. He was elected to the officer and director position at BCG in 2000 and ran the Southeastern corporate development practice.
A native of Georgia, Mr. Whitehurst graduated from Rice University in Houston with bachelor’s degrees in computer science and economics. He holds a general course degree from the London School of Economics and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
